beginner pescetarian.... need some food ideas please!!

Answers:
I made tofu chili recently and it turned out great. Follow the recipe found at the link below, just substitute crumbled and lightly browned tofu for ground beef. Also, add a little more spice to compensate for tofu's lack of flavor. It's delicious!

There's a great recipe for hot and sour soup with tofu on epicurious.com. Just instead of using chicken broth, use veg broth. That's what a friend of mine did. And they love it.

Extra Firm Tofu is great for stir frying. Simply press and drain the tofu to get excess liquid out and then cut it into cubes. In a large wok or skillet, heat up a few tablespoons of canola or sesame oil. When the oil is hot, add the tofu and stir fry until it is brown on all sides. Remove the tofu and let it drain on a paper towel. Keep the pan hot and add another tablespoon of oil. Now feel free to throw in your favorite veggies and seasoning - I would recommend using broccoli, bean sprouts, bok choy, white onion, chopped garlic, and a generous splash of soy or teriyaki sauce. Stir fry the vegetables for 2-3 minutes and then add your tofu cubes back to the pan. Toss, remove from heat, and serve as is or over rice.

Tofu kabobs are great.
I've made them using things like pineapple, green pepper, mushroom and onion on the skewer too and marinated them a for a little while in Teriyaki sauce before cooking. I cook mine in a ridged grill pan, but they'd be even better on a grill.

Tofu with cooked (even canned little whole ones) potato, green/red peppers, onion, zucchini or whatever you want to include on the skewers and then marinate in italian dressing would be good too I think.

Just be creative and have fun!
I'd use firm or extra firm tofu for kabobs.

Also you can cut it up and put it in soup/broth too.

cans condensed tomato soup
2 cans kidney beans
1 can corn, drained or 2 cups frozen
1 pkg. vegan taco seasoning
1-2 cups corn chips 1 cup vegan cheddar cheese, grated

Directions:

Place first four ingredients into a casserole dish and mix together thoroughly. Sprinkle corn chips on top to fully cover, followed by the cheese. Place in 350 degree oven for about 1/2 an hour.

Well, my "Southwest Style Scrambled Tofu" recipie got me 2 best answers on this forum so far, so maybe you'll like it too.

Drain Tofu well. Crumble and put in a non-stick skillet

Add to taste:

nutritional yeast
vegetarin poltry seasoning. (McKay's Chicken Style Seasoning works well, if you know where to find it)
onion powder
Garlic powder.

Let simmer, stirring fairly frequently if it tries to stick.
While tofu is simmering, dice some tomato.

When tofu is almost done, add tomato and some salsa. (My favorite is the ORIGINAL style Pace Mild). Adding the tomato products near the end is important, because tomato added to a dish can stop the other items from cooking. Weird, but true.

Salsa and poltry seasoning are VERY salty, so no extra salt is usually required.

Anyway, eat the scrambled tofu with tortillas and a little sour cream and a little more salsa if you like. YUM!! It's one of my favorite breakfasts, actually!!
