Question:

How long does it take to hard boil an egg?

Answers:
To get the best hard boiled egg place cold water in pot and add eggs then put on the stove over high heat till it comes to a boil as soon as it comes to a boil shut off the heat and cover and let sit for 10 minutes and then they are done perfect. Hope this helps

depends on how hard you want it. and what part of the U.S you live in. due to evel.
But here Fl, 3 to 5 mins does the trick for us.

I put the eggs in the water immediately, before it heats to ensure I don't crack them. I then let the water get to a medium boil and cook for about 20 minutes.

I actually just talked about this in a class. It takes about 15 minutes.

Boil the water - one boiling place the eggs in the water - leave them for 11and 1/2 minutes exactly - place the in an ice bath right away to stop the eggs from cooking further

10 Minutes.

20-25 min

my mom says 11 min

I also use the bring to a boil, take off the heat and cover for 13 min. method. Not only do you get perfect eggs, they will be centered and not have the off putting green tinge on the outer part of the yolk.

Bring the water to a rolling boil.
Cook the eggs for 12 minutes
Shock the cooking process in cold water until they cool. THis is important as it redistributes the sulphers in the egg and you don't get that dark green ring

Also. Take a sharp object and slightly prick the round side of the egg enough to leave a mark; but don't puncture the shell. The gas inside the egg will escape when you place the egg in the water through this pick mark and the egg will have less of a chance of cracking in the cooking process.

you can put the eggs over the water which is boiling then it will be ready in 2 or 3 minutes)

If you boit the water before adding the eggs then it takes 16 minutes. A good trick is to add a few Tablespoons of salt to the water and as soon as the time is up dump the hot water out and cover the eggs in cold water and change the water every few minutes for a few times to cool the eggs quickly. They will peel SOOOO EASY!
