Are there any obese vegans?!
Are there any obese vegans?
Answers:
I don't see why not.
While it is true that vegetarians are generally healthier than non-vegetarians, and that a vegetarian diet is considered to be the most healthy diet around, it is not full-proof in preventing obesity. Obesity has many factors including genes, diet, amount of exercise, etc.
If a vegan is constantly eating high caloric items (such as fried dishes or sweets), eating large amounts of food, and not exercising it is very likely that said person could easily become obese. It's a combination of exercise, healthy eating, and portion control that is critical in any diet.

I'm sure there are..but not nearly as many as those who are not vegan.
if there is.........thats just...........sad
i doubt it, though there are some with thyroid problems in which it's not THEIR fault they might be obese.
I hope not...
I think it's possible if the person just eat LOTS AND LOTS of junk food non-stop.
Probably. There are lots of vegan junk foods out there so I could see that there might be some obese vegans out there.
I'm vegan, and although I'm not obesse, I definetly could be if I let myself eat lots of vegan cake, cookies, chips, fried foods etc.
i am vegetarian and weigh 260 pounds and have been vegetarian for about nine years.
my two best friends are both vegetarian and over 200 pounds. also my friend who has been vegetarian for about 11 years is about 20 pounds overweight.
my daughter is athletic/ average weight
and to end any questions before they begin, i do not enjoy sweets, eat fatty fried food, or refined grains, nor do i pig out. i am proof that genetics plays a role in obesity. i am athletic and play water polo, and enjoy working out hard in the gym.
i think the difference that ive noticed is that obese and vegetarian is a totally different ballgame than obese omnivores.
i dont have a choleserol or blood sugar problem and my doctor says i am very healthy and that health comes in many faces.
