it's a matter of classification. There's really nothing else to call it besides a Tisane, which is the proper name for Herbal Teas and Flavored teas without using real tea.

However, no one is going to buy a Tisane drink. That's just my opinion. It's all about selling the product and how it's best going to sell, and that is by calling it tea. Even though true tea fans know it's not really tea :)

Same reason Herbal Tea in not made from Tea leaves either.

maybe it a regional thing.
that whats they call it in Africa
