Whats the use of having your cake and not eating it?!

Question:

Whats the use of having your cake and not eating it?

Answers:
That expression means you can't have it "both ways". You can't save that beautiful cake to gaze at, and yet enjoy eating it too......or

you can't pretend you're humble, and yet brag about your accomplishments....or

you can't marry a Miss America contestant, and yet tell people you don't judge people by their looks......etc...etc.

By the way, a neat wedding tradition is for the top tier of the wedding cake to be saved and wrapped in the freezer. On the first wedding anniversary the cake is defrosted and enjoyed by the bride, groom and close friends and family. I guess if you have a multi-tiered cake...you can have it and eat it too!

Pennance.

None

Very funny. Thank you so much for the laugh!

a waste!

To wish to have one's cake and eat it too or simply have one's cake and eat it (sometimes eat one's cake and have it too) is to want more than one can handle or deserve, or to try to have two incompatible things.

Not sure i mean cake is yummy

Pies are best but having your cake and not eating it affords you the ability to throw it in someones face.

Doct-ahh Natedawgg

means your strong willed. wish i was like you in this case.

I've wondered that myself.

Because it's drop-dead gorgeous! How could you possibly cut into a cake that looks so perfect?! You heartless animal!
