Snacks to take on a roadtrip?!

Question:

Snacks to take on a roadtrip?

me and my family are taking a trip to niagara falls next week and we have two kids, so we are going to need to take some snacks for the way there. what would be the best kind of snacks to take if we dont have a fridge. plus, we will need some ideas for quick and easy breakfasts that can be done in a hotel room (still without a fridge).

Answers:
Oh. I had a roadtrip to niagra falls a few years ago!

Bring... chips, candy (not too much so the kids don't get hyper), crackers, cheese-its, oreos, those uh...ritz bits, maybe some drinks in a cooler, roasted seeweed (if you don't mind it), chex mix, uh, I could keep on going, but to save us all, I'll stop.

For snacks, I suggest things like dry cereal, nuts, chips, fruit snacks, and things of those sorts. For breakfast, bagels and english muffins are always good options, as is instant oatmeal, since most hotel rooms have microwaves. Hope I helped, and have fun!

I like to bring along Handi-Snacks...those crackers w/ spreadable cheese in little packages. Granola Bars, Nuts, and beef jerky.

Bring a loaf of bread and some peanut butter.........and honey too if you like, that doesnt need refridgeration. Either that or the little packets of jam/jelly.

If you like tuna, you can bring a can opener and some canned albacore tuna(thats the good kind) and mayo........just make sure the mayo is not opened.......if it isn't opened it doesn't need to be refrigerated. You can even try and score some of those little mayo packets from a fast food restaurant if you want to not spend money.

Dry cereal is good for snacks and breakfasts. Trail mix is healthy and filling. Goldfish crackers are always a favorite, too.

well you can bring muffins or plain bagels for breakfeast. For the car, if you have kids, bring pretzels, animal crackers, and if you want you can bring some chips. Than bring some bottles of water just incase. You could also stop along the way for stuff like meals and a cold drink.

chips, candy, candy bars, juice, fruits, pop tarts, marshmallows, sodas, bring a wireless dvd player and some movies

everyone loves these, even my three year old. i usually split the batch and put a little extra cayenne in one for my husband. you can find unsalted, roasted nuts in the bulk section of the store. you can also use any nuts you like. i usually just use mixed nuts, or a combination of cashews and pecans.

Rosemary Roasted Mixed Nuts

1 1/4 pounds mixed nuts; unsalted
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 tablespoon melted butter

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Place the nuts on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes until they are warmed through. Meanwhile, combine the rosemary, pepper, sugar, salt and butter in a large bowl. Toss the warm nuts with the rosemary mixture until the nuts are completely coated. Serve warm.

cracker and cheese whiz sandwiches
juice boxes (capri sun is clear so no stains)
chex mix
grahm crackers
fruit snacks

fruit and quaker oatmeal squares for breakfast

Make your own meusli that you can keep in a ziploc bag. Take raisins and nuts, you can always buy a small amount of milk at the nearby restaurant. The missing fridge is a problem, but you could take a cooler and put freezer packs in to keep the boiled eggs cool, freeze milk and let it thaw in the cooler
? Cook bacon ahead of time and place in ziploc bag and then take some tomatoes. You can always make sandwiches. Yes without the mayo(that will surely spoil), but you may want to consider, saving up on mayo from McDonalds or Burger King and some ketchup and mustard for condiments. Take some canned tuna or in the package.
Good luck! This is a tough one.

Granola Bars, Fruit Roll-Ups, Pretzels, Chex Mix for the trip up. For breakfast in the hotel use a hot plate and heat up a can of corned beef hash, serve on bread or bagels. You can also heat up a can of refried beans and mix in bacon bits, garlic powder, and salt/pepper, serve on flour tortillas, or whatever canned goods sound pleasing to you for breakfast. Bring some fresh tomatoes and dice up to top your breakfast with, and some fruits. They shouldn't need refrigerating if stored in a cool car or room. Yum!

Some great snacks for kids are gold fish crackers, wheat thins, granola bars, fruit snacks, chips, carrot sticks, apple pieces, bananas, and anything else easy to eat. Good breakfaast foods are fruit, pop tarts, pudding, dry cereal, and again granola bars. Have fun and don't forget fun things to do in the car.

Gold Fishes are good for kids and for something for the morning bring granola bars,Cereal bars(Coco Puffs, Cherrios, and Toasted Crunch) and fruit roll ups for the kids. Fruit Gushers and chips Pringles and drinks Crystal light, gatorade, Green Tea or Snapple.
