Roasting Garlic?!

Question:

Roasting Garlic?

I have searched the internet for ways to roast garlic cloves and have come up with nothing. How should i properly roast cloves of garlic without burning them?

Answers:
Roast the whole head instead of the cloves.

Whack the top part off of the head to expose the tops of the cloves. Put heads in a glass baking dish, topside up. Pour olive oil over the heads. Bake in the oven at about 375.

Check on the heads every 10 minutes or so, spooning the hot oil over the tops of the heads each time (be careful, don't burn yourself!) When the exposed parts of the cloves start to get brown around the edges, remove the dish and let it cool. When it's cool, just squeeze the cloves out with the edge of a spoon (this part is a little messy, but well worth it!)

You can do several heads at a time. Store the cloves in a closed container in the fridge in some olive oil. Go ahead and cover them completely, as the oil will take on a garlic flavor and you can use it for cooking other things.

Hope this helps! happy cooking!

My uncle the gourmet

Take the whole bulb of garlic and wrap it in tin foil...pour olive oil over the garlic then wrap the garlic in the foil and bake in the oven for 50-70 minutes..Take it out and enjoy

There are a number of ways to do it...oven, stovetop, and grill.

* Take an entire bulb &, leaving it intact, cut off just the tips of all the tops. Drizzle olive oil over the top and you can even sprinkle some salt, pepper & herbs over the top.
* Now you can wrap in foil and toss onto the grill - about 30 minutes but it depends on how hot your grill is & what rack you place it on.
* You can place the bulb(s) on a baking sheet (or wrapped in foil) & roast in the oven at 400 for about 30-45 minutes.
You can also do it this way on the grill!

OR

* You can take individual cloves - leave the skin on - & cut off just the root end to each one.
* Place in a pan with just a bit of olive oil (and herbs if you'd like) & put the lid to the pan on & shake them around. You want just a touch of olive oil to coat all the cloves.
* Leaving the lid on, roast on the stovetop at the lowest heat, for about 30 minutes. Toss the cloves around occasionally to roast evenly.
