Answers:
Homemade Ranch Dressing

INGREDIENTS
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon dried chives
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, chives, parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.

take a tub of sour cream (2 cups) and add to it a packet of onion soup mix. Mix well. Completely idiot proof and always a hit, I promise ;-)

Get the ranch dressing by craft.

You can also make this easy recipe that I invented .

1. Take a cup of yogurt
2. Add about half cup sour cream
3. Add two full table spoonfull Mayo
4. Add bacon bits if you like them (about 2 table spoon)
5. Add 2 table spoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon of blended/chopped baby Spinach
6. 1 clove of chopped garlic
7. A little cilantro for flavor
8. pepper and salt.

Enjoy

Homemade dips are far better than store-bought. Check BHG.com for lots of good, and easy, recipes.

hidden Valley Ranch has an awesome dry mix that is better tasting then the jar dressing and you can make it thicker like a dip.

Here's one that I and my who family love:
1 cup of sour cream
1 cup of Mayonnaise
1 packet of dry Italian dressing mix (Good Seasons is the brand I usually use)

Mix them together and refrigerate (it's always better after it's been in the refrigerator over night)-I've also made a vegan version substituting tofu sour cream and soy mayonnaise that turned out pretty good

Hidden Valley ranch makes a dip mix that you all you have to do is mix it in a tub of sour cream. It tastes great with fat free sour cream too. I found the packets at the grocery store in the same isle with the ketchup.

you can make something mediterainian like hommus which is chickpeas cooked and mashed, tahini, garlic, lemon & salt.
also another nice and simple one is taziki which is yougurt, chopped cucumber, garlic, salt.

1 cup mayo
1 cup sour cream
2 T dill weed
pinch of garlic salt
1/8 t of beaumond
yum....

I like this one, on all, but especially on celery & cauliflower:

1 c mayo
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup minced onions
1/4 cup horseradish

Mix and refrigerate several hours before serving.

Another favorite is:

Dry veggie soup mix packet
2 cups sour cream (16 oz container)

Mix and refrigerate several hours

Enjoy the party!

Chunky Bleu cheese!

home made is always best... simple hommus:

2 1/2 cups cooked chick peas (from tins) rinsed and drained
1 clove garlic, quartered
1/3 cup tahini
1/4 cup lemon juice

put it all in a blender until smooth, add some water if it is too dry (just a little at a time), or some olive oil, 1/4 cup is plenty but use water if you want the low fat version!

sprinkle with paprika or cayenne pepper for garnish

if you want to make it from dried chick peas, use 1 cup, soak in water for 4 hours or overnight in the fridge, then boil with enough water to cover for 1 hour (might have to top up with boiling water if it evaporates off), drain and use as above

Veggie Dip
1 cup salad dressing (I prefer Miracle whip)
1 cup sour cream
1 cup cottage cheese
1 packet dry ranch dressing mixMix all and refrigerate overnight for flavors to blend.

The dip I like to use the most is just Ranch dressing.
