For how long can milk be kept out of the fridge.?!

Question:

For how long can milk be kept out of the fridge.?

Heres the deal,
I keep tetra pack cartons of UHT treated milk in the fridge (3 month lifespan)

Now I opened a pack (snipped the folded triangular sides) and forgot to seal it and keep it back in the fridge.

For how long is milk drinkable/storable once its exposed to air?

Answers:
well, better chuck it away. milk shld be stored in cold temperature at all times. once out of the fridge more than an hour or your milk has gone 'warm' meaning bacteria has started to culture in it. better the waste the few bucks than to pay for your medical bill later.

I would say the least an hour or two depends if it was hot or cold that day, because the heat and the air can just make the milk rot faster. So don't take the chances.

Generally, milk is not dangerous until awhile after it tastes gross. Milk will start to smell bad a short while before it tastes bad. If it passes the smell test, go ahead and drink it.

Milk can be kept out of the fridge for as long as you want. I would not advising drinking it after it has been out for over an hour though.

for three seconds

It can stay out 'till it goes bad. Geezzz, what a question.

How long it can be left out depends on the temperature of the room it was in...did the milk reach room temperature? If so, then throw it out.

The long held method of telling whether or not milk is spoiled is the look and sniff method. If the milk has an unpleasant smell and/or if there is any separation, the milk is considered by most to be spoiled. This however is a matter of interpretation.

To answer your question: There is no commercial litmus test or hand-dandy test kit that you can buy in order to test your milk for dangerous microbes.
