Home Made Apple pie for dessert made with my grandmother's recipe!
Well, the two most popular dishes we make at home are baked, stuffed turkey with all the extras including fresh fruit salad with whipped cream as a dressing and with a melted marshmallow, whipped cream, fruit cocktail pie in graham cracker crust as dessert, OR spring rolls with a sweet and sour sauce. That's just from my sometimes difficult hostess experience.
But as a restaurant visitor, for me it's half comfortable, friendlly atmosphere and half good cooking. Maybe you should just do some little thing to make your guests feel special, like give each a flower or a choice of a surprise package to take home. That sounds small, but little things have big effect.
Or have a theme of the day, or costume party and let the waitresses dress up, (if they want to) or have a fifties theme and give everyone free coffee for a day. If that's affordable! Or have a special vegetarian or extra-healthy or low-cal lunch and advertise it ahead of time.

I'm from a southwestern background and a little bit of a armature chef myself, but I think a Honey Adobo Pork Loin served with a Black bean, Roasted Corn and Pistachio croquette might be a really interesting side dish. I'm experimenting with the croquettes myself this weekend, so, no suing me if I ever get famous :).
A really playful desert would be a hollow churro pipped with a kind of no bake cheesecake filling and served with a caramel dip.
