Baby's live off milk, can adults?
Ok, this is going to sound stupid but i have often wondered about this.
When a baby is born he/she lives off ONLY milk for months. No food, just milk.
If i was to stop eating and only drink milk, would the milk become a substitute for my food?

What i mean to say is, does milk act as food? i know it does for babys but if i were only to have mik for 6 months would the milk work for me the same way it works for a new born???

No, they live off of human breast milk, which contains complete nutrients needed for a human baby, or formula, which is added to milk to supplement it with the nutrients a baby needs. Only baby COWS can live off of cow's milk, or baby goats of goat's milk, kittens of cat's milk, etc.
if you got any spare id try it for you
it would if you lived off your mum, you need all the nutrients, (vitamins and minerals) not just the basic milk.
No adults cant.
An adult body need more nutrition to survive. Kind of obvious really!
Basically one gets 3 different types of milk namely bovine (cow) milk, goat milk and Soya milk.
Baby bovine, (calves) have a very stronger digestive system compared to humans, as it has three different stages of digestion.
Goats milk is probably the richer of the three in fatty solids and soy milk is made from soy bean.
Bovine milk cannot be digested by all humans. There are in fact whole "peoples" who have inherited the inability to consume fresh bovine milk, and usually allow the bovine milk to start fermenting before consuming it. Much like unflavored yogurt.
So you can see that humans are not supposed to actually consume bovine milk.
Similarly, goats milk would not do much for your nutrition save for making you fat.
Soy milk is therefore the best option, but even then, one would have to consume additional products like honey and green foods to be able to survive a period of 6 months without becoming ill.
Breast milk from a lactating human is structured differantly to that of any other animal.
Nature has provided most wonderfully for each and every animal type, making wolf's milk differant from horse milk and so on...
So, here then is your answer:
That human digestive systems still develops after a baby has been born, and that it will develop in time past the stage that it needs milk to survive. That consuming milk from other animals would be unnatural and therefore insufficiant and to thank your lucky stars that we have found a way to make milk from the humble but versitile soy bean.
Good luck
I would not recommend it, you can actually drown from too much liquid, it has happened. Also, your body would starve
