Can i have a recipe for a cake that children will love?

I need to make a cake for many children. I dont wanna make any art on it with colours and sugar. It will be a simple cake or a cake with a simple topping. Do u have any suggestions? Thx.

My kids have loved this homemade carrot cake since they were very young. They are 21 & 23 now and still ask me to make it.

HOMEMADE CARROT CAKE

INGREDIENTS

6 cups grated carrots (you can do this with a food processor)
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup raisins
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

DIRECTIONS

In a medium bowl, combine grated carrots and brown sugar. Set aside for 60 minutes, then stir in raisins.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 10 inch cake pans.

In a large bowl, beat eggs until light. Gradually beat in the white sugar, oil and vanilla. Stir in the pineapple. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, stir into the wet mixture until absorbed.

Finally stir in the carrot mixture and the walnuts. Pour evenly into the prepared pans.

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven, until cake tests done with a toothpick. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan. When completely cooled, frost with cream cheese frosting.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1 6 ounce package cream cheese
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup butter
4 cups powdered sugar (sifted)

Beat together cream cheese, vanilla, and butter until fluffy. Slowly add powdered sugar 1/2 cup at a time until the frosting is the right thickness to spread on cake. Keep in the refrigerator until serving.

My daughter-in-law told me she uses this web-site, www.childrensrecipes.com, to cook with my grandson because she's never been a real good cook but the baby likes to cook. You may find something different there.

Place your cake batter into cake ice cream cones and place them in muffin pans and bake. When they have finished baking cool and ice. Kids love them.

a family favorite is white cake mix and add peanut butter chips to the mix,it is so so good.hope your try it and kids love it.

use the betty crocker cake mix tht is at the store i love it and so does everyone else

Make a Dirt cake.

20 oz bag of Oreos
12 bowl Cool Whip
1 cup powdered sugar
8 oz. cream cheese
2 boxes instant chocolate pudding (make according to directions on box)

Crush Oreos and put half in bottom of deep dish. Spread pudding over Oreos. Combine sugar, cheeese, and cool whip. Spread over layer of chocolate pudding. Spread other half of oreos over this. You can decorate it with gummy worms. I have made this and put it in a plastic beach pail (new one of course). It is really cute with the worms hanging out the top. You can also use the little shovel to scoop it out with. Kids love it!

I'll second the ice cream cone cakes. I don't ice the tops though if they have to be transported. I put icing into a piping bag and when the cakes are cooled I squirt some inside the cake from the top. Cover the hole with a little swirl of icing and a cherry or chocolate chip on top.

here is a green cake they might like, and it is fairly healthy too..see the picture in the link...

Spinach Cake
(Ispanakli Kek)

3 eggs
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1lb 2oz (~500 gr) raw spinach, roots cut off*, washed, drained
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1 tsp baking powder

For on top:
1 cup whipped cream

13’X 9” X 2” (3 Liter or 3 qt) Pyrex baking dish

Puree the spinach in a food processor, put aside. Whisk the egg and sugar in the mixer or by hand. Add the olive oil, lemon juice and pureed spinach in it and mix. Then add flour and baking powder. Mix for a few minutes. Pour into the oiled Pyrex baking dish.

Preheat the oven to 375 F. Check with a toothpick to see if it's done, bake until it comes out clean. It takes about 30 minutes.

Let it cool down, then take it out of the Pyrex. Cut off the sides about 1 inch wide, and mix these using a blender to get them in powder form, put aside. Place the cake on a service plate. Spread whipped cream on the top, then sift the powdered cake on top of the cream. Slice it up and serve.

The best big cake I've ever made for my kids is called "Crater Cake" - I found the recipe in "Winners" from the Best of Bridge series.

It's like a banana bread with chocolate chips and cinnamon. It's baked in a 9x13 pan and is very thick and dense. The kids love it.

I love to make ice-box cake, where you whip heavy cream and vanilla for flavor to make whip cream, then you take thin chocolate waffers and make oreos with the waffers and whip cream, then put it in the fridge for at least 6 or more hours, when you take it out, its refreshing for summer and totally delicious!! Enjoy!
