Mole sauce in a jar?!

Question:

Mole sauce in a jar?

I had some fresh stuff in a restaunt and it was wonderful. I found a jar of it at the groery store in a glass container, but when I went to scoop it out with a spoon it was mostly saturated powder/paste.

Am I supposed to spread the powder on the food or do I mix it with a liquid? What I had at the restaurant was not paste at all.

Answers:
You mix it with chicken broth (canned is fine) and a pinch of sugar to taste. A little of the paste goes a long way. Start w/ 2 TBLS of paste to each can of stock until it's the consistency you want...buen provecho!

Follow the link or read the directions on the bottle.

The jar stuff is like a concentrate. You mix it with chicken broth or water like it says on the label, and add sugar to taste. I usually find that when I open the jar it is a really thick paste with a layer of oil on top. That is hard to stir in without making a mess, so I just go ahead and do the whole jar with the recommended amount of liquid. Then I divvy it up into freezer bags and I'm ready for the next few times I need a mole fix!

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the mole sauce in a can (by a famous mexican food label). It is bland and thin.

I'm making mole today and I always use the class jar too- by Dona Maria.

What you do is empty the jar in the blender and add a little chicken broth. Blend it. Pour it in the saucepan and add more broth till it's a nice consistency. Add sugar or peanut butter (I use both) to sweeten it to your liking. Done!

Good luck and I hope you enjoy! I'm looking forward to mine also!

Ok, this is a secret and will make your mole great. The stuff you bought is concentrated, you will need about a liter of chicken broth. But before you do...
Fry a slice of bread, make it crunchy.
Put chicken broth in blender with the bread, a tomato, blend.
Put in pan and throw in a chunk of chocolate (mole is basically chocolate with spices), I would use about the size of half a sneakers bar for a liter of broth (do not use sneakers, ok?).
Now add the mole, stirr, if it sticks it burns and tastes awfully.
Once it boils, add the meat...
chicken or pork (I prefer chicken, take the bones out).
Yum, I will be great!
Prepare some rice to go with it.
