No

No

No, cottage cheese isn't made from any kind of cheese. Like all cheeses, it starts out as milk. Actually, cottage cheese is probably the "fastest" cheese there is.

Milk is warmed up, so it will curdle more easily. A "starter" of some kind---often rennet, but it can be also be a weak-acid coagulant---is added, and the mixture is stirred and allowed to cool.

What's left over is (literally) curds and whey...the curds are the almost-finished cottage cheese, and the whey is the slightly-acidic liquid portion. The curds are then washed, to further remove any whey left behind. Then it's pressed to squeeze out most of the remaining moisture. At this point, it's done; it can be salted, and/or have fruits or other ingredients added to make it taste better.

No.

Cottage cheese comes from milk that's gently heated, and then has an acid added to it (like white vinegar or lemon juice). The acid separates the whey from the curd, and it's strained, rinsed, and broken into the curds that people know as cottage cheese.
