How long can cooked rice be kept in the refrigerator?!

Question:

How long can cooked rice be kept in the refrigerator?

Answers:
Rice is the staple in Thailand. My wife is Thai. She says that in a refrigerator cooked rice is okay the next day. In a freezer it should be good for a week.

You didn't mention whether the rice is plain, cooked rice (white, brown, etc), or if it has had other ingredients added to it. That's important.

Plain rice will last in the fridge for quite a while--maybe a week. The important thing is to limit exposure to air, which will dry out the rice. The best way is to store it in a zipper-top plastic bag. Squeeze out as much air as you possibly can, then seal the bag. It doesn't matter if the rice gets a bit compressed in the process; it will break apart just fine later, when you add it to other (warm) ingredients.

If the rice has been combined with other foods, such as vegetables or meat, the keeping time will be shorter, probably 3 days at the most. It's not the rice, it's the OTHER ingredients that might might go rancid or spoil.

2-3 days.

The best wat to warm it up is on a stove top, adding a couple of table spoon of water.

2-3 days provided you have cooled it quickly after it's cooked.

Not Long it hardens up

According to the Department of Agriculture, you should eat refrigerated leftovers within four days to maintain food safety. If you don't anticipate being able to eat them within this period of time, freeze them immediately
