Warm water?!

Question:

Warm water?

We have several guys at work that drink room temperature water and they say cold water is bad for you. Huh? I thought water was good for you. Why would room temperature water be good for you but cold water be bad?

Answers:
I have heard this too. One reason supposedly is that cold water shocks your system and room temperature water does not and it will absorb more naturally.
Supposedly too cold water can get into your system really quickly. What the danger is I don't know.
I drink room temperature water.I do it because I lived in an area that didn't ever serve water cold. Just habit.

Well they are wrong. Cold water is the best it speeds up your system. Dont listen to them.

Water is good all around and quniches the thirst it also purifies the body and flushes the system how ever cold water so what freezes your insides pure room temperature water doesn't effect the body so harshly.

As long as the waer is pure enough for ingestion, the temperature is only a matter of personal choice.

I am one who drinks room temperature water. It is because i develop a cold after drinking cold water especially with ice in it. Does this make sense.....

they are wrong. water is water. its good for you cold or warm.
prefer cold though. =)

Warm water and Cold water are both healthy for you. Water is water. Nothing more nothing less.

it is the other way around

what I have heard is that room temperature water is better for the digestive system

sounds like a myth

I have known people who said this and I've looked it up and found nothing about it (it concerned me a bit when I first heard it). Apparently, there isn't a lot of truth to this. In actuality, drinking cold water burns a slight amount more calories than drinking room temperature water as your body needs to "work" to heat it up in your system. The amount, if I remember correctly was only around 17 calories per 8 oz. glass of water, but hey, it's something if you're concerned about it. I've also heard that warm water makes you "feel full", but I've only heard this through dieters and haven't read up on it.

this is just preference, if you like cold water, drink cold water, they like warm water because they heard that germs die in heat and not cold, its ok, no one will die, cold water tasts better, the germs only die at 389 farenhieght, or so i was told. ah im drinking cold water right now, refreshing.

Actually, I did hear that warm, room temperature water is better for you [it has the same nutritional value as cold water] it is just a lot easier on your stomach.
