All 3 of my kids are vegan.
My 15 year old is 6'2".
My 12 year old is 5'2" and my youngest is 9 and 4'10'.
There isnt a doctor around who would not agree they are beyond healthy.
Just remember to have protein available after you dont nurse. A handful of nuts is considered a full serving of protein! A half of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a serving. Theres so many awesome alternatives out there that kids love- Fantastic foods is one of my favorites- they are affordable and offer complete proteins- tacos, sloppy joes, veggie burgers are a few of their favorites.
You can buy TVP in bulk and use it in spaghetti sauce as a meat replacer, buy garden burgers, etc.

ANYHOW... my children dont suffer from allergies and asthma and dont suffer from childood obesity. They are not too skinny either.

My family is vegan

Hahahaha. What about the Boobie milk.

I don't know of any...but whatever you decide to do, choose to breastfeed the baby for the first 6 months at least. We just had a story on the news about a vegan (stupid) couple who thought they could substitute breastmilk with apple juice and soy...doesn't work out for a newborn. Make sure you get your paediatrician's advice. There is soy formula milk which is used for lactose-intolerant babies so i guess you could go for that when you stop breastfeeding.

if the mother is veggie--an the baby breastfeeds--milk- would that make baby on a vegan diet?

What?

I don't know of any but please make sure the baby gets the proper nutrition.

a vegan couple have been arrested recently because they killed their baby by putting him on a vegan diet.

I'm not saying it's impossible since I've HEARD of some healthy vegan babies. it's just that you gotta know exactly what to feed your baby, you know.

I meet one that was about 2-3 years old. I couldn't tell by just looking at him. He looked normal.

You need to determine if maintaining a proper diet is something you can deal with or not.

Yes I Do.
I know a science teacher that was vegan baby.

SO Don't listen to ignorant people.
I'm veggie planning on going vegan.
Gooood LUCK!

I don't know any vegan babies. However, myself and my two younger siblings were born (and are being raised) vegetarians.
One of my siblings was born early and the docs feared that the baby's lungs wouldn't be fully developed. Let me tell you, that child has THE LOUDEST voice you ever want to hear in a two-year-old. Probably will darn near live in a pool, since the kid can hold breaths really long, too.
Also, those "childhood diseases"? Croup? Chicken pox? Mumps? Measles? None of us has had that. Well, my older sib got chicken pox- he ate meat until he was four (go figure!).

So my experience with vegetarian youngsters tells me that it's something good.

I have a friend that raised her child vegan. Her daughter is very healthy. I would recommend it.

There are plenty in Cambodia and Ethiopia. How do you think they look.

Only one.....

I just joined an Adventist church. Most members are in my church 60s and 70s. Most of them are vegan and have been since birth.( we don't believe in eating pork, and shell fish. matianing a good diet and exercise is apart of our faith. Its not required to be a vegan but most Adventist do for the health befits) You cant even tell they are the age they are, they get around good. Alot of the members in my church are very active for their age. I know its not a baby but its a example of the result of a life time befit of being a vegan from birth.

Yes, I know of about five and they all are vibrant and healthy-looking, but don't act like little brats who eat too much sugar all of the time. They also are at a reasonable weight. I've seen some toddlers who are omnivorous who are already overweight, unfortunately.

My nephew will turn 4 months old the ninth of this month he weighs 15lb. his parents are not vegans but he has been on soy formula all of his life . Doesn't he sound healthy to you . The couple that you mentioned just wasn't feeding there baby it wasn't what he was eating it was what he wasn't.
