Meat eaters..?!

Question:

Meat eaters..?

Why do you keep telling veggies that we shouldn't try to convert meat eaters when you're doing the exact same thing? Weird.

Answers:
I wonder if this ignorance and immaturity is new for you too regarding meat eaters. I thought I was done with this immature cr** once I finished all of my school years. I'm considered a minority as far as being a vegetarian is concerned. Majority of the people I know eat meat, but we act civilized and mature and do not judge one another.

And yes- they ARE doing what they are accusing us of doing!
People care WAY TOO MUCH what others are doing.
Nosey nosey nosey!
I don't care if anyone agrees/disagrees with my beliefs, for I do not have to prove myself to anyone. And I have never forced my belief on anyone, yet I have been 'labeled' by the non-vegetarian trolls who target this forum.
Would be nice if non-vegetarians would either ask legit questions or do some research before coming to this forum.
And put an end to generalizing and assuming.

Eat what you want I don't even give a ratt's azz.

i love meat and i love veggies so i don't care what you eat. If you like it eat it and if you don't dont. I have a friend who is a vegetarian and she doesn't try to get me to switch and i don't try to get her to switch. There's pros and cons for both.

I will admit there are some Vegan products I love but it was never forced upon me I discovered it myself. I dont poke fun of Vegans its not a bad lifestyle but one that is for sure not for me since I do love me some meat.

They do?

Not me : ) To each his own. Most people though like to think that they are always right and know the best way to do everything. That's why they are always trying to convert.

I do have a friend that I find odd. She is a vegetarian because she is against the famring practices (polluting etc). But she eats dairy.....can't figure that one out.

I'm not trying to convert anyone. You enjoy eating things which I eat. I just eat more things because I don't limit myself to what I eat. I just can't eat shellfish because I'm highly allergic to it but other than that my options are all open. You only live once. Why only eat food which tastes plain and flavorless for the most part. The only thing I can't stand are the animal rights activists who picket at farms and grocery stores. Also ones who try to convert me. I eat meat because I like it. Not because I don't like you.

um, its not natural to only eat green stuff. we have a few sharp teeth for a reason. and its not tearing lettuce, its for tearing meat!! =D anyway, meat is good as hell. what you wanna eat is your perogative. I ain't gonna try to convert you. I love meat and you love veggies. cool. individuality is a beautiful thang. enjoy the veggies for me cuz I don't eat them as much as I'd like....=)

I don't think ANYONE should be trying to convert ANYONE. If you don't like someone else doing it, (trying to convert) then why would you do it? We make choices, and we are within our rights to make those choices. I made the choice to eat meat (with some exceptions due to animal cruelty). I would resent anyone telling me I have no right to make that choice. You are a vegetarian... I think that's great. I wouldn't even think to criticize that choice.

(for the uninformed: Vegetarians don't eat just "green stuff". They get all the necessary nutrition in what they eat, including proteins. There are PLENTY of meat eaters who are not healthy eaters.)

Why do you "veggies" have to generalize so? everybody knows that vegetarian is an old Indian word for "lousy hunter"

I've never tried to convert anyone. I have just pointed out the scientific facts that it is an unhealthy life style. Red meat, bacon and chicken eggs are, according to scientist w/ nothing to gain, the best foods for the human body. Peanuts, soy and tofu can not and do not replace the nutrients found in them. And scientists say that vegetarians die, on average, 5 years younger than omnivores.

I'm omnivorous, and I don't try to convert anyone. I think that pushing one's own beliefs on someone else is wrong (as well as annoying!). It's essentially the same thing as trying to get you to "see the light" and convert to my religion. You'd slam the door in my face.

I am a restaurant owner, and although our clientele is not exclusively vegan/vegetarian, we do offer a number of menu choices to accommodate them. And yes, we are very careful to keep these dishes STRICTLY vegan (where applicable), right down to using specific, dedicated cookware to prepare the meals. In part, that's due to respect for the customers' beliefs. We don't want anyone discovering that they're "accidentally" consuming foods that are off-limits. Of course, the larger reason is that we want to appeal to as may people as possible! All about the Benjamins, you know.

My only concern, and possible cause for voicing my opinion, would be whether a vegan or vegetarian is getting all the nutrition he (she) needs. I think that's a legitimate concern.

I never have done that? To each is own!

Because it's part of ? the REVOLUTION ?.

You do what you want and I will do what I want.

I think most of us are sick of these types of questions. Let everyone open their minds and all get along.

true true.

I would never try to convert any one to be a veg, I would just let u know that if u did, I would like u better!

I cannot speak for anyone else on here, and I don't even eat meat, but I can speak for myself. IMO I think the majority of people who choose to eat meat do not try to convert vegetarians.

However the few people on here(which I will not mention by "name") are remembered because of their pushy answers, and ridiculous information. I know I remember some of these pushy meat eaters because after reading their ridiculous questions, or outlandish responses to questions I look at the "name" wondering who is this ignorant in their response. On the flip side of the coin omni's that give answers that contain the correct info and not as readily remembered because they do not stand out with their response.

I think there is a equal amount of trying to convert people going on. I find it a bit ironic since for the most part both sides are looking for the same thing, which is not being criticised for how they eat or told that how they eat is unhealthy and wrong. People should mind their own business. I myself do not try to convert people to the vegetarian diet and have to say beside coming her have never been approached by a omni that tried to convert me to eating meat. I have had some great debates with people, where we both discussed out views and beliefs(but since we were both willing to do so, I don't consider this trying to convert each other.)
