Is V8 a good source of vegetables?!

Question:

Is V8 a good source of vegetables?

Answers:
According to the manufacturer its not Vegetarian though. I spoke to them and they said the ambiguous 'flavourings' in the ingredients could be animal or fish derrived.

yes very good but still you need to eat the real vegetables!

the best - one of the few commercial drinks that is because of its purity of ingredients

I think it is, and I feel it is very tasty! I'm about to try the V-8 spicy. I feel V-8 can't hurt you!

Yes, but it has a LOT of salt... Be sure to drink extra water if you drink that every day. There's no beating fresh veggies and fruit, but if you must substitute every now and again, V8 isn't too bad.

The low sodium kind of V8 just tastes ew...I'd rather drink the regular and follow it with a couple glasses of water. =)

Watch out for the sodium content though. When you're in a pinch for time, ingesting a can of V8 is healthier than eating a Big Mac with cheese any day! ( ^ _ ^ )

you'll still need a good source of fiber

No. V8 contains so much hidden meat its not even funny. It only contains a 1/16th of a tomato and the rest is salt and meat.

It's not the best, but I suppose it's better than nothing (EDIT: SCRATCH THAT - ANIMAL AND FISH FLAVORINGS - EW!). It does have a lot of salt. Vegetable and fruit juices lose a lot of their vitamins when they sit. Something like V8 which sits for weeks or even months before being consumed is not going to be anywhere near as healthy as freshly juiced vegetables.

I am a big advocate of juicing. My family drinks fresh juice almost every morning and we can FEEL the difference. I would love to see you look into buying an inexpensive juicer (or an expensive one! Doesn't matter) and try juciing your own vegetables! There are a ton of great recipes online and there are great books out there, too. Give it a try. Your body wil thank you.

Probably more so than ketchup is.

Its good but not as good as eating the vegetables raw. Its a decent choice compared to the other drinks juices convenience stores carry.

you'd do better eating veggies naturally. V8 has much more sodium than real veggies.

Yes but I always prefer resh veggies, V8 has a ton of salt, and I wonder who's rly sooo lazy they cant make themselves a salad.

If you can choke that stuff down I guess. I'd rather eat the real veggies. Plus you don't get as much fiber from juice.

Make your own in a blender. Tomato, onion, garlic, celery, carrot, kale, broccoli, and lettuce, a dash of soy sauce, dash of pepper. Fresh. Not processed. Good for you.

it is a good way to get some beta carotene in ya, for sure. But keep in mind these drinks have a lot of sodium in them; downing a few cans a day will double your daily need for sodium. Not good.

V8 has a low sodium version on the market to (and a spicy flavor - gimme gimme), but you do want to go moderate on it just the same.

You're better of with real veggies, but that you know. So as a supplement or extra little something it is alright. It aint no substitute.
