Homemade food to send to Iraq?!!?!

Question:

Homemade food to send to Iraq?!!?

Anyone have any cool suggestions on some homemade food that would be good to send to Iraq?! And yes i'm aware of cookies and brownies etc...

Answers:
I've sent plenty over as my daughter has been there two tours.
Really don't go wtih anything chocolate right now, wait until at least October to go that route. Send what you make in the flat rate priority boxes you get at the post office, you can make those as heavy as you want and not be charged anything more than the flat rate. Plus they get there in a week.

Rice Krispie Bars travel well.
Beef Jerky is fairly easy to make in your oven
Homemade chips made out of deep frying tortillas work great you can make savory or sweet depending on what you season them with.

I know you're looking for homemade but other than a lot of the sweets, which you're aware of it's hard to come up with ideas.
Some ideas from the store that are a bit unique are pita bread and send a squeez jar of peanut butter and one of jelly.

make something your famous for

toffee.

sorry i was going to suggest cookies but i cant Waite to see other responses

coffee cake

Legally you're not allowed to send food across the border. You need a special permit and food must pass safety regulations.

put this question to the "military"section. I bet they will tell you what they want to eat.
