Carabbean snack food?!

Question:

Carabbean snack food?

can anyone tell me about different street/snack food from the Caribbean besides Jamaican patties or doubles.

Answers:
They have phoulorie, it's a small fried dough eaten with some type of chutney.
There is alloo pie, also eaten with a chutney, it's a fried dough with a seasoned mashed potato
Tostones,Fried Cod Fish Fritters, Coconut Drops, Currant Rolls.
there's a lot more, i can't think of them at the moment..

they eat alot of coconut

Plantain chips also they have Cassava and breadfruit chips, fresh fruits, ices like in NYC Hispanic area, soft drinks or soda in the US, I worked in Jamaica and they have Jerk Huts along the road into the citys, were they make the famous Jerk Chicken/Pork and some have sausages made from pork and spices.

But because of the meal times and the climate they try to keep hydrated and cool, Patties are a good street food, roti or doubles are very popular in Trinidad as a quick breakfast, with chickpeas or potatos you can get filled quickly and they are very inexpensive. I worked in Montego Bay, and there were street vendors with coconut, mango and soursop ice cream, they use condensed milk so it is alot softer than with cream.
