Red Onions look purple to me? Or are there purple onions and red onions?!

Question:

Red Onions look purple to me? Or are there purple onions and red onions?

I'm confused

Answers:
There are a number of sub-varieties of red onions, some are darker red than others, some almost look purple. They all taste like onions, even the ones that look almost pink.
Confused? Eat an onion, they are good for you.

"Red" onions are in fact purple. Just one of those funny things.

They're the same thing.

They are mostly purple-ish. The fresher ones are a bit redder. But yeah, I never understood why they say they're red onions.

there is a purplish color in your crayons called Red Violet. I guess they were thinking of this color when they called them red onions.

Nope, red oninons are purple. Lol.

It's one and the same. Same thing with purple or red cabbage and purple or red beets.
