Are there really gold flakes in Goldschl?ger?!

Question:

Are there really gold flakes in Goldschl?ger?

I have always wondered what those flakes are. They can't be real gold....right?

Answers: The flakes you see are genuine 24 carat gold, in such a fine foil that if you were to compact them all from a 750ml bottle, they would weigh less than a fiftieth of a gram.

That works out at about $0.30 per bottle! Source(s):

They are fragments for food grade gold leaf.
