Answers: Most countries probably do, usually salt --- but maybe in different forms like soy sauce, nam pla(fish sauce) oyster sauce, preserved lemons, pickled products...

Pepper also is pretty standard, except in some asian cuisines where red chili powder, dried red chilies or fresh chilies prevail.

Most Latin American, Med, Arab, Indian, Persian & Asian cuisines have alot of other flavors going on as well but salt is always used, it brings out all of the other flavors! Pepper also, but not required like salt. Source(s):

I'm an Aussie, & no we don't use salt & pepper at every meal. Its not something thats on everyone's dining room table at dinner time. Personally, I mostly have pepper, but have salt less often. Although I love salt, most foods/meals have enough salt in them already. We in New Zealand do. it depends on other countries. like most countries in europe probably do, but if you go into more mediterannean and indian cuisine, they use a whole bunch of spices for each meal than just salt and pepper, i mean in each indian meal there's like two to four spices that give it a delicious & moutwatering flavor. Different cuisines have different seasonings/condiments that are placed on the table to be added to one's own food. The obvious is soy sauce for Chinese and Japanese food. Thai food has fish sauce, also lime wedges, maybe deep fried shallots or garlic, among others. Many Latino cultures offer hot pepper sauce. I'm sure there are others. Not really a thing to do with countries, it's personal preference. Sure salt and pepper are on every table when you go to restaurants but I prefer to add other spices instead to enhance flavour.
