Rice and Beans- this meal is when the rice and beans are separated and less seasoned. it's more plain and the two foods are not mixed. they are either on top of each other (rice on bottom) or next to each other

Beans and Rice- this meal is more seasoned and saucy. the two foods are mixed together and flavors are added. sometimes even sausage and other meats with chopped peppers. it is eaten a lot in cajun appetites and is very affordable. have you ever seen the zatarain's commercials? Source(s):
http://www.zatarains.com/content.cfm?id=... ok, thank you for the info We do not eat rice on our beans in our Mexican cuisine. It is placed side by side on the plate. Catherine K has the correct answer. Rice and beans means there is more rice than beans. Beans and rice--more beans than rice. rice and beans has more rice What a waste of brain space, but hey, alphabetically, beans comes before rice. I guess it depends on who is on top? Michael Douglas or Katherine Zeta Jones. hmm maybe the same thing....as in

by gosh im on to something! rice and beans is when beans is mixed in the rice
rice is the dominate one

beans and rice is when rice is mixed in the rice.
beans is the dominate one First, the difference is the spelling itself. Second, rice are rich in carbohydrates while beans are rich in Vitamin B. Rice are eaten with viands while beans can be viands part of the vegies.. what a stupi'd explanation. is the same rice and beans and beans and rice. it is just the way you say it. the corrct form is rice and beans. crap, u people r to fast for me ck is right Rice and beans are cooked individually
Beans and rice are cooked up together like a pilaf

It's all the same when it comes down to it really.
It all depends on what culture is cooking and how they say it. u mean to tell me u don't know what chinese spier ribs r. well, let me show u man. bruce lee enter the dragon. You forgot peas and rice! LOL. in my family we call it rice and beans but we eat that as a side dish meaning that there is more rice than beans as a side. In one dish you cook the ingredients separately and serve together or apart. In the other you cook them together. If I understand the question and your description, I might have an answer for you.

Rice and Beans in the Mexican culture are prepared separately and usually eaten separately.

Beans and Rice in the South (not South America) are a Cajun dish that is Red Beans and Andouille Sausage cooked in a big pot so they are juicy and then served over white rice.

Both Yummy!!
Hope that helps a little.
