How do I use this marinade?!

Question:

How do I use this marinade?

I bought some marinade in a bottle. It did not say to use any water. I am wondering should I use water because it seems like the marinade would be too concentrated instead of enhancing the flavor of the meat.

Answers: If you just use it as a marinade and let the meat sit in it for a few hours or overnight in a ziplock bag it will just soak in the flavor, it shouldn't over power the meat. If you are going to brush it on the meat while it cooks than adding a little water will keep it from being too intense. First we need to know what type of marinade is it?

Without having the basics of it we won't know how to direct you.

Water is probably not going to be your best bet either way. The bottled marinades are made to use as is, but you can add water to dilute it some, if you want. It certainly won't hurt! don't use water, instead use somethin liquidy that will dilute the marinade and won't lose the flavor of it. for example if you have an asian marinade that is really thick, use a little extra soy sauce or hot sauce to loosen the mixture. if you're using something else, use lemon juice, it's a great tenderizer for meat. Mix the marinade with other marinating spices. Marinade is made to enhance the flavor of the meat, you don't need to add water. Most bottled marinades are ready to use unless they are concentrates.

If the bottled product says, ready to use -- then it's okay but if you feel it's too concentrated, then dilute with the appropriate liquid (water, orange juice....), this depends on the marinade, meat & type of preparation.
