Good Asian/Oriental Spices?!

Question:

Good Asian/Oriental Spices?

What type of common yet Asian and Oriental spices can be used along with a noodle dish?

Answers: Your basic standby is chinese five spice, this will give youa distinctive aisan flavour. Use soy sauce instead of salt. Ginger is also a good option. Depends on what part of Asia you're referring to. if you are doing a Japanese or Chinese style noodle, ginger works well, as does garlic and pepper. If you're doing Vietnamese or Thai, add some basil and/or cilantro...lime is great with those too. I would have to say Chinese all spice is great to keep around.
Ginger and Garlic you can't do without.
I also love water chestnut's and green onion's in a nice dark thick Chinese sauce.

I also keep Oyster sauce, Teriyaki, Hoisin, Sesame oil and Rice wine Vinegar around.
Also diffrent Indian curry powders can be used as well.

It really depends on your taste's as well.
I'm personally a lover of all Asian cuisine.
So it helps me to keep lots of everything I may need around. I agree with Tom C. Ginger powder.
