Any crazy wild Chinese dish that tast wonderfull?

I'm a foodie and have recently been moved near my first Chinatown (chicago). I have found THE resturant of my Chinese dreams. No english, hole in the wall, kind of hidden, plastic bag table covers, and freggin' delicious!!
So, anyone have a favorite dish that's super authentic. I'm not looking for generals chicken, egg rolls or any of that stuff. Any adventurious recomendations come to mind?
P.S- I'm a broke grad student so I can't afford the sharks fin...don't go crazy on me.

I don't know the name of it, but it has pickled jelly fish in it. It's more delicious than it sounds. Also I suggest shrimp, scallops and/or squid in XO sauce. Wow!

I've had the best dinners in NY Chinatown by just telling the waiter to have the chef order for me. Just tell him your budget. Then let the adventure begin!
