Does a rice cooker make rice nice and sticky?!

Question:

Does a rice cooker make rice nice and sticky?

I am thinking about buying a rice cooker. but what is the difference in taste versus boiling rice on the stove?

Answers:

The rice cooker does not affect the stickiness of the rice. It is the type of rice you use that determines how it comes out. In the world of rice, there are short, medium and long grain rice. The short grain rice such as cal rose produces a Japanese style rice which is sticky. Long grain rice comes out drier. The rice you get in Chinese restaurants is long grain rice. Rice taste the same whether it is cooked on the stove or in a rice cooker. The rice cooker just makes it a whole lot easier and the rice is more consistent.
