Answers:

You do NOT put tortillas in a microwave to cook them. Nor are they supposed to be "warmed" tortillas need to be cooked. Every Mexican household has a tortilla skillet, flat iron, etc (which ever version you prefer). Make sure the skillet is very hot before attempting to cook them on it, if not they will stick to the skillet. After the skillet is hot, turn it down to medium heat. You do NOT need to oil or butter the skillet to cook tortillas.

Tortillas need to be cooked on both sides, dark brown spots and bubbling will occur when doing this. I prefer mine well done, that is when the spots are black. Turn them often after spots and bubbling appear or you will burn the tortillas, I use a fork to help with the turning, I am a pro at it and my fingers can take to heat after years of doing this, you may want to try something longer that keeps your fingers away from the heat.

Friggin taco bell introduced "grilled" burritos like it was something new, all they did was cook the tortilla for once.

None of the reccomedations above are correct unless youre making taco shells (in the case of the corn tortillas), those are ways of reheating a cooked tortilla.

Flour and corn can both be cooked this way.

Take it from me, I am Mexican.
