How come that british people drink their tea with milk?!

How come that british people drink their tea with milk?

I'm from Germany and I don't. But I wonder , because I have to do a presentation, why the British people does that.

well one it cools the tea a fraction,and two, it looks more drinkable,and three it goes down a lot better when you have a sip if you stick out your little finger,with your drinking hand.
up in yorkshire though we sup owt a mugs,an dunk our biscuits in till they fall in to tea,an spoon it awt wih a spoon.
no not drunk ,just a little bit of yorkshire slang for you if you can work it out.
