Question:

Does anyone know a recipie for a good chocolate mexican dessert and drink?

I need a recipie for an a chocolate mexican dessert. It will be helpful if its something that can be prepaired ahead of time. I've read some responses on yahoo answers about churros and some say its mexican and some say spanish. My question on making them is can they be made the night before and still taste good served the next night. The only stores for shopping are price chopper and walmart.
Also thoughts on a great drink would be nice or even a wine?

Answers:

Mexican Chocolate Cake

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or ground mexican chili powder)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup cold water
1/4 cup canola oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
chocolate glaze
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
6 tablespoons water
10 small fresh strawberries

Heat oven to 350*F.
Lightly coat an 8" round cake pan with vegetable cooking spray.
Combine all cake ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir until smooth.
Pour into a pan and bake 25 to 30 minutes (until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean).
Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool completely.
When the cake has cooled whisk together the first three glaze ingredients.
Dip each strawberry into the glaze and set aside.
Pour the remaining glaze over the cake and arrange the strawberries on top.
Set aside to dry- about 30 minutes.

Michelada- Mexican Beer Cocktail
INGREDIENTS:
1 ice cold Mexican beer (dark is better)
coarse salt (for the rim)
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1-2 dashes of hot chile sauce (such as Tabasco, Tapatio or Cholula)
1 dashes of soy sauce
1 dashes worchestshire sauce
beer mug or large glass (chilled if possible)
Ice
lime wedge for garnish
PREPARATION:
Salt the rim of the glass by wetting the edge with some of the lime juice then dipping it into a plate with salt on it. Now fill the glass about half way with ice and pour in the lime juice, chile sauce, soy sauce and worchestshire sauce.
Mix with a spoon then slowly pour in the beer to the top of the glass. Push the lime wedge onto the edge and serve immediatley. When you have a few drinks, pour the remaining beer into the cocktail.

Variations:
A dash of Maggi Sauce
A pinch of black pepper.
1-2 pinches of all-purpose meat seasoning.
A pinch of celery salt
Do not salt the rim, instead add 1-2 pinches of salt to the cocktail.
A sprinkle of Pico de Gallo seasoning.
