Someone has told me that he thought the world best food is France cuisine and the only compatible food is the Chinese Cooking. I strongly think so. As compare to beef steak and burger in USA or fish and chip in UK, I think the food culture in these two countries are very much different.
In old China, the king 'Qing Dynasty' has hold a feast for his people. The splendid meal had hold for 3 days and 3 nights continuously for more than 500 dishes. In Chinese cooking, there are at least 1000 ways of cooking pork, 300 ways of cooking a duck. There are basically 8 different group of Chinese cooking in China, the 'Shanghai' style, 'Beijing' style and etc...All have their unique taste and cooking methods.
I believe the Chinese cuisine that you are having in State or most China town in western countries are only the 2 to 3% of what real Chinese cooking surpose to taste. If you have chances to travel to China or Asia countries, please try the local chinese cooking there. You don't only eat 'sweet and sour' pork, roast duck or the normal 'Chow Mein' in Chinese resturant here. You will find food that spend lot of effort in preparation, example 2 days to slow cook soup, 7 days to braise the dry abolone etc.
