I Love Armenian food, especially since I grew up on it. My mom always made dolma, yalanchi, chi kefta, kefta, shish kebob, lamajun and of course rice pilaf. Now that I have a family, I do make armenian food, but not like I used to. It's hard because the kids will not eat it, or they don't like it. Eventhough my daughter (10) finally tried cheese berog again last christmas and absolutely LOVED it. Wants me to make it again and again, but it is too fattening. My husband loves when I make armenian potatoe salad, he doesn't like hummus, he barely eats tabbouli. So it is hard to cook for just one (me). But I will tell you this, I make a killer yalanchi, and even odars love it. With a name like Armen (brings a smile to my face), you probably live in a huge Armenian community (where there are armenian restaurants), but here in the burbs' of Cleveland....well let's just say that I have not seen or heard of any armenian restaurant. Arabic food is similar (somethings), but not truely armenian. I would love it if there was a restaurant nearby. It feels good to speak of Armenian food, now I want to make some.
