How come asians don't eat brown rice?!

Question:

How come asians don't eat brown rice?

Most asians are little. And they live on white rice. Some asians never even seen brown rice! Why is it that Americans are all about Brown rice..........but we still eat still continue to get fat and fatter?

Answers:

Puh-lease! All the other "Asians" who answered really didn't do so well enough.

In ancient times, especially in southern China and other parts of Asia, rice was grown on wet marshlands that were damp and humid, and very warm.

The brown rice had certain organic oils which would spoil. White rice would keep longer. As time went by, this grew into a tradition.

Apart from that, Asian cultures--especially the Chinese--think that brown rice is only for the poor. That;s because the poor cannot afford to have the brown rice polished into white rice. Hence, the wealthier people ate only clean, shiny white rice. It's a cultural thing.

So why don't Asians get fat eating white rice? Because they eat only a small amount of meat and animal fat, and eat more fiber-rich vegetables and leafy greens.

Besides, Asian portions are smaller. For an Asian, two cups of rice is already considered very plenty! Americans, on the other hand, love to eat bowl after bowl after bowl...
