What russian food do you know?!

Question:

What russian food do you know?

What russian food did you know or tried? ANd how did you find it?

Answers:

I've had borscht (beet soup), eggs minsk (like deviled eggs), kulebiaka (salmon in pastry), pirogi (potato-filled dumplings), pojarski(pork patties), chicken Kiev, stuffed cabbage, and blinis (buckwheat pancakes) with smoked salmon and caviar.

None of this was made by someone actually from Russia though... it was made by a bunch of people I go to school with.

That said... I found it very heavy. Traditional Russian food is heavy on veggies like cabbage and kale... hearty greens, and potatoes due to a very short growing season.
