What was the name of what I ate in Str?get?!

Question:

What was the name of what I ate in Str?get?

Well, when I went on vacation to Denmark in the winter and visited the 'Str?get', I bought these nuts covered in sugar or something, and I failed to get the name, do any of you happen to know the name and how it is made?

I would like to cook it for my family and friends here so they can get to taste it.

I would like to know what kind of nuts were used and how it is cooked and how to cover the sugar or whatever that was on it properly.

Answers:

Their candied nuts: you can use ANY type of nuts (peanuts, pecans, walnuts, almonds, macadamias...)

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons light corn syrup
1? tablespoons sugar
? teaspoon salt
1? cups (5 ounces) walnut or pecan halves

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Place a large piece of aluminum foil on a work surface.

2. In a medium bowl, combine the corn syrup, sugar, and salt. Add the nuts and toss to coat well. Place in a single layer on a baking sheet coated with Teflon? non-stick.

3. Bake the nuts for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown, stirring every 5 minutes and making sure they are not burning.

4. Immediately spoon the nuts onto the foil. Let cool slightly. Quickly separate the nuts and let cool thoroughly. Store in an airtight container.

Advance Preparation: The nuts will keep for 1 week in an airtight container.

The Clever Cook Could:
? Add a pinch of cayenne and freshly ground black pepper to the nuts before baking for a spicy adaptation.

? Add 1 teaspoon of grated orange zest to the nuts before baking for a sweet citrus flavor.

? To make a large batch: Use a 16-ounce bag of pecan or walnut halves and triple the amount of syrup, sugar, and salt. This will make about 3 cups.
