Does anyone know how to do basic chinese chow mein/rice with...?!


Question:

Does anyone know how to do basic chinese chow mein/rice with...?

vegetables and chicken(sometimes bite size peices of pork)on the side?i made sweet and sour chicken today now i want to try the rice or chow mein doesnt matter


Answers:

Chow mein:

1. bring the water to boil and add in the spaghetti
2. after all covered in water, turn the heat off and put the
lid on to simmer for five minutes.
3. drain all water and rinse lightly with cold water
4. put the pot back in high heat
5. add half cup of vegetable oil and half cup of soy sauce (you can adjust this amount on the next try)
6. stir and mix for one minutes, turn the heat off, and cover with the lid
7. stir occasionally during the three minutes
8. serve immediately while it is piping hot.


This is the basic chow mein, it is quick and simply, very tasty. Once you mater this level, you can try to add in other things. The variety is endless.

Fried rice:

1. cook rice fresh and wait for step 3
2. in a pot, add half cup or more of vegetable oil (do not use oliver oil) and five eggs. Stir in the high heat until the oil start to reappear again.
3. After oil and egg are visibly separated, add in fresh cooked rice and half cup or more soy sauce. Stir for 2 minutes and serve hot.

The quantity of oil and soy sauce is a personal taste, you should start to adjust in the next try. After you master this basic fried rice technique, you can try to add in other things before serving. It gives you different varieties of your favor fried rice
