sorry but you will need to come into the city - to the old chinatown area on the south side. there are many wonderful chinese restaurants that serve authentic chinese food - and many who serve what americans think is chinese food. the best way to spot the authentic is to look for mostly asians in the place as customers - and look for things in the window or on the menu like chicken feet or jelly fish (remember - just because they're on the menu doesn't mean you have to eat it) or peking style roasted duck. there's actually a wonderful place that i go to famour for their braised noodles and roast duck - called seven treasures. here is their website:
