Fish:
Trout in red wine (or beer) / Baked Mackerel on an onion bed / Mixed fish in cream sauce / Monkfish and leeks / Fish balls (!) in batter / Eels in herb sauce
Poultry - your choice
Rabbit - with cherries as a fricassee / stewed with prunes / with Savoy cabbage
Meat:
Oxtail casserole / beef stew / shin of beef (or veal) /Calves liver / pork with prunes or plums / pork chop stew (all the usual veg!) / Pork with lentils / Lamb in mustard cream
Game:
Quail and grapes served on bread / Pheasant and chicory (or chestnuts) / Braised pigeons\partridges\thrushes (!) or woodcock / Hare or venison or wild boar stew /
Sweets or Puddings:

PHEW ! ! ! - Take your pick and make up your own choice of menu. It just goes to show that they don't ACTUALLY live on mussels and chocolate - I didn't mention them ONCE ! ! !
