Is tahini supposed to have a bitter taste to it?!


Question:

Is tahini supposed to have a bitter taste to it?

I want to try hummous, so I purchased some Greek "Krinos" brand tahini. The lid says it expires on the 23rd of Feb. 09, but when I sampled a little bit, it had a bitter taste. The label also says No Preservatives. Is that the way its supposed to taste?

hi try a different brand, it can be bitter but not to much,
try a turkish , israeli or lebanese brand
keep trying till you find one you like
