Name of a particular Japanese dish?!

Question:

Name of a particular Japanese dish?

When I was in Japan and I wasn't feeling well, my host mother would make me something like a bowl of rice with cooked egg mixed in it -- the egg wasn't quite scrambled, but it wasn't fried either. I think there was fish in it too.

Does anyone know what that would be called?

Answers:

hmm....
maybe she cooked u some okayu, or "rice poridge".
they cook that a lot in japan if u're sick. it's kind of like a different version of chicken noodle soup only in japan.

the basic thing in an okayu is rice. u can add other ingredients like egg or fish to it. (like how your hostess did)

my dad made this for me when i was sick too, except he only added rice, egg and chicken in it, instead of fish. (it tastes really good with fish sauce by the way) ^^

hope that was wat u were looking for ;)
