Question:

At a Mexican restaurant they offered me refried beans. Why would they refry them? What was wrong with them ?

The waitress couldn't answer as to why they refried them. I asked what was wrong with the beans the 1st time, are they left overs and they had to refry them? And this fried ice cream, it would melt. I just wanted it w/o frying it.

Answers:

The unique taste of refried beans is created from the slow frying of the starches inside the beans as they fry in the oil. Very yummy...if they didn't "refry them they wouldn't be!!!
