Food etiquette?!

Question:

Food etiquette?

i was told when having an indian meal, you are not supposed to use certain hand to pick up food? is this real? and which hand is not allowed? what other strange and unique etiquette you've encountered on a dining table? please share, i don't want to be ignorance and disrepectful.

Answers:

It's the right hand ONLY (the left is used for hygiene). Also, it's only the fingertips that are used for eating. Your hand (palms, length of the fingers...) should remain clean. You also should not touch your glass (or drinking vessel) with the right hand, that's only the left hand!

In India (also most Asian countries), it is absolutely perfectly
acceptable to slurp, burp, fart and make all sorts of noises while you are eating (means you are enjoying the food!).
No need to ever excuse yourself in India!
