What is the spiciest ethnic food you think?!

Question:

What is the spiciest ethnic food you think?

we (my friends and i) always arguing about what is the spiciest food and no conclusion. i LOVE spicy food, i think there are different level of spiciness in different ethnic food. i used to work as a bus boy for a thai restuarant. the chef told me the "****" spiciness on the menu not even conisder hot in authentic Thai... i mean, it is pretty hot already! i also love shichuan and hunan (chinese food) and they are also plenty spicy. i want to know what you consider the spiciest ethnic cusine and why? please dont answer if you only eat one type of food. here's a few suggestions: shichuan/hunan, indian korean, thai, cambodian, mexican...

Answers:

Without a doubt, an indian curry called a Phal or Phall. Thai or mexican doesn't really come close. Be warned though, it's far too hot for any but the most experienced curry fan (I've only got as far as a Madras, several levels of hotness below). I'm still not sure if it's not a joke played on drunk brits after the pubs have shut, just to see if they'll eat it - only ever met one bloke who could, and he was a mad Scot I used to work with......he reckoned he kept his toilet paper in the fridge for days afterwards though.
