I like Spicy Flavors, but what is with the Hot???!

Question:

I like Spicy Flavors, but what is with the Hot???

I really enjoy trying new dishes and flavors from all around the world..... but how do you tell a server or cook that you like rich spicy flavors but don't want to gasp, choke, have sweats or have tears running, suffering from it until after it is out of your system? I can't believe that others enjoy the meals, the suffering. All you taste is the hot. There's nothing good about hot peppers or tabasco in your food unless you eat paper and it's the only alternative....

Answers:

I agree! Food should be flavorful & spicy but not painful and searing!

You should taste the food and not a mouthful of chilies!

As far as Indian or Thai restaurants, ask for medium spicy. It's always good spicy and flavorful without the burning searing pain.

People that can actually tolerate that much spice & heat have burned their tastebuds to that degree.
