What exactly is Sushi?!
What exactly is Sushi?
I've never had any kind of them...I've always heard they contain raw fish... Is this true? And what are the green leafy outsides? Please explain what they taste like...I guess I'm not that open minded when it comes to trying new foods, so please explain any or all kinds that you have had. Thanks in advance!

And I don't eat any kind of seafood or fish! Are they good?
Answers:
some sushi does contain raw fish but in other cases the fish is cooked. Some sushi has cooked tofu instead of fish.
Sushi is actually a term that means "with rice". It does not mean "raw fish".
The green stuff in sushi is seaweed. It has a salty taste. And the green stuff on the side is wasabi which is Japanese horseradish and has a sharp taste (use it sparingly). You often will also get pickled ginger with your sushi, especially if you get it as a takeaway pack from a supermarket.
I like many different kinds of sushi... eel, salmon, tuna, octopus, and california rolls (which usually have crab, avocado, carrot and cucumber) are my favorites. I also like the individual sushi pieces with just carrot, or avocado, or cucumber, inside the rice and seaweed (none of which would contain the fish).
There is a type of sushi called a "hand roll" which has the seaweed on the outside (the "roll" is in a cone shape) and that contains Japanese mayonnaise. I don't like these though, as I don't like mayonnaise.
There is also sashimi, which is the seafood pieces with no rice or seaweed. Just the fish (usually served raw).
When you get sushi at a restaurant, often they'll bring out a plate of edamame (boiled soybeans in the pod) as an appetizer. I love these as well.
