3. home made ice cream how bout fried Chicken if your seniors are rural and/or poor, they will NOT like the last 2 items.Do something like macaroni and beef, or beef stew for them. not sure they'll love the curry or the chow mein, but since they sound great, just make sure they aren't too spicy. I think they will love it. :) One year I had a potluck and I made meatballs dipped in barbecue sauce it was a crowd favorite, try it if you want!!! :D cheeseburger casserole Go with your menu! I learned this the hard way. When I'd cook for my parents my mother said "no onions, no garlic, no spices, your dad can't handle them." After my mother passed I accidentally cooked something with onions, garlic, and spices. I apologized but my dad said "Are you kidding? I love this! I haven't had onions/garlic/spices in ages!"

Just because they're older doesn't mean they've lost their taste buds. In fact, they may want to be adventurous after all the bland food they've had for years. while i prefer pork curry instead of anything else......... so you should cook that.......you also should serve some vegetables....that will be great 2 or a salad. Sounds delightful, but watch out for fried and seniors. They don't do well together. Brownies are always a hit, too. curry with coconut milk is high in colestrol and could give em heart attack and so is fried noodles

dim sum or any other steamed stuff would be better They may or may not like those dishes - I am into many different types of foods, but the people I work with are middle aged caucasians who WILL NOT try anything "abnormal." I try to go with something "safe" like Tastefully Simple's beer bread mix with a couple different dips, and also a cheese/cracker tray.

But if you make the foods somewhat mild, you should be fine. Too bad I was there for your potluck, as your food sounds delicious! any would do....
but i think that the more foreign the dish is, the more they would prefer to take a taste of it....
i know you can do it....
