Hey everyone!! I am looking to try indian food but I am not sure on what to order. Can anyone tell me something common first timers order when they get indian food..

Answers: Chicken Tikka Massala - not too spicy, it's a good introductory food Chana Marsala...veg [ chickpeas and potato ] in a great sauce.
Poppadoms - flat crackers with various dips...appetizer.
Chicken tikka or tandoor chicken - bright red, but good.

Avoid the chicken/lamb/fish VIDALOO - it'll melt your face. Butter chicken a nice spicy order of curry!!! And maybe a coke to start with. But theirs chicken curry etc...so ask for the best one!!!!!!!! For dessert try the kheer (Indian rice pudding) it's very good. The should have that, if not try kulfi (Indian ice cream) or gulab jamoon (like little round dounuts). Dal makhani. Literally 'buttered lentils'. It's a very rich and creamy lentil dish. Not at all spicy, but quite fattening and tasty. Good with both rice and bread. Curry mutton or curry chicken.

Here you can find many types of dishes with photos.
