(Scottsdale Arizona) These are some of the places I like to visit in the old town area. They all have good food and are local places.

Mexican - Los Olivos (been around forever)

Japanese - Kyoto (Not to be confused with Kyoto Bowl chain)- Great atmosphere and love the saki bombs

Italian - Oregano's (local favorite, dessert is awesome)

Breakfast - Orange Table(my favorite breakfast spot, hidden next to Mondrian hotel)

Hip Spot - Olive & Ivy

Steaks - Drinkwater's City Hall Steakhouse (pricey)

Modern American - Cowboy Ciao (pricey)

The prior poster is talking about Cafe Carumba. I go there for breakfast sometimes and it's ok. Salt Cellar is on Hayden and I wouldn't eat seafood here. You are better off down the street at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. You'll have a larger selection of restaurants to chose from.

But 2 good places in Old Town-shoot.....the name escapes me at the moment because it changed names. The former name was Jaqueline's Cafe and it is located the corner of Indian School Rd.-It is now a Mexican style cafe and very reasonable prices and GREAT food! I want to say that the name 'Cafe' is still in the name.

You can also try Buca di Beppo for Italian food on Scottsdale Rd. There is also a sushi bar close by. The Salty Cellar is on Scottsdale Rd.-for seafood.

If I can think of the other name I'll come back to edit.
